Merrily We Roll Along

by Stephen Sondheim

BOOK NOW

How did you get to be here? What was the moment?

Merrily We Roll Along answers those questions in reverse, moving backwards in time from 1976 to the hopeful beginnings of 1957, tracing the fractured relationship between composer Franklin Shepard and his lifelong friends, Mary and Charley and the choices that shaped their lives.

As the years unwind, a heartbreaking but hope-filled story is brought to life through an unforgettable Sondheim score, including Old Friends, Not a Day Goes By and Now You Know.

Following its recent Tony Award-winning Broadway revival and with Richard Linklater’s groundbreaking film adaptation currently in production, this acclaimed musical now comes to Bristol Old Vic for one week only. With a cast of 20 and a live on-stage band of 12 musicians, this promises to be a spectacular staging of a Sondheim classic and BSA’s most ambitious production to date.
