ENEMY!: Ibsen meets community radio

A discovery threatens the prosperity of a Norwegian spa town. The doctor who brings it to light becomes the person nobody wants to hear.

ENEMY! brought that conflict to Tobacco Factory Theatres from 2–4 July 2026, reworking Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People through songs, public meetings and community radio. Its arguments about evidence and self-interest played out in the language of spin and conspiracy.

The production belongs to BSA’s Acting & Devised Theatre work and follows Elsinore and The Crucib*tch. Here, the familiar story becomes material for an ensemble to reshape, with the town itself providing a stage for competing accounts of the truth.
