Clara Marullo

Clara founded The Actors' Workshop Bristol in 2007, building it into a unique centre of excellence for actor training, with an unrivalled track record for getting students into drama school. (90% of Foundation students are offered places on BA / MA courses at accredited drama schools every year).

Clara received a degree in English Literature from Oxford University, then trained for three years post-grad as a singer at the Royal Academy of Music. She started out in opera, playing principal roles for Welsh National Opera (across the UK, at the Royal Opera House, the Brooklyn Academy of Music and the Teatro Lirico, Milan) and at Glyndebourne Festival Opera before moving into musical theatre. Roles include Fantine in Les Misérables, Emma in the world premiere of Orphans and Jenny Lind in Barnum (West End, UK and international tours).

An Estill-trained singing teacher, she has years of experience training both singers and actors.
Many of her students have gone on to play principal roles in the West End and several have been Sondheim Award finalists. In 2024, Clara was the vocal coach for BA's highly acclaimed production of Piaf.
