Natalie Simone
Visiting Tutor
Natalie Simone is a British-Italian theatre director and theatre-maker, born and raised in Derby. Her work spans new writing, devised performance and classical texts, with a practice characterised by bold theatricality, visual storytelling and experimentation with form.
Natalie originally trained at East 15 Acting School before completing an MA in Drama Directing at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, where she received the E Roberts Award for Outstanding Achievement. She was nominated for Best Director at the Off West End Awards for her production of The Ugly One by Marius von Mayenburg and was the 2024 Jerwood Assistant Director at the Young Vic.
Her work includes collaborations with the Young Vic, Sheffield Theatres, Trafalgar Theatre, Bristol Old Vic and Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She has worked alongside directors including Patrick Marber and Sally Cookson, with credits including A Streetcar Named Desire, Nachtland, Emilia and the Olivier-nominated What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank.
As a director, her credits include Henry V, The Ugly One, The Hunger, STAG, The Day I Got the Horn and Days of Significance. At Bristol School of Acting, Natalie works as a Visiting Tutor and Guest Director, including directing Lulu by Frank Wedekind, adapted by Angela Carter.
