STUDENT LIFE @ BSA.

Training at BSA is demanding, collaborative and full of possibility.

Student life is shaped by much more than what happens in the classroom. It is the people you work alongside, the productions you make, the conversations between rehearsals, the visiting artists you meet and the city you become part of.

At BSA, you join a creative family built on the love of acting.

Your training connects you with students and practitioners from across BSA.

Actors work alongside directors, filmmakers, designers, technicians and makers. Ideas move between disciplines. Productions bring different courses together. The work you make becomes part of the life of the school.

That exchange is an important part of learning how creative industries actually work.

AT THE HEART OF BRISTOL'S ACTING SCENE.

Throughout your training, you will move between classes, rehearsals, shoots, workshops, screenings and performances, putting what you learn into practice as you go.

The aim is not simply to prepare for making work one day.

You make work here.

Conversations become projects. Students make their own work. People see shows together, attend events, collaborate across courses and explore what is happening across Bristol.

Your time at BSA is an opportunity to develop your own creative identity.

SUPPORTED TO DO YOUR BEST WORK.

Creative training can be intense.

BSA is committed to creating an environment where students can take creative risks, develop confidence and grow as artists while being supported as people.

Care, communication and respect sit alongside rigour and ambition in the way we approach training.

CONNECTED TO THE PROFESSION.

Professional practice is embedded throughout life at BSA.

You will encounter working artists, directors, makers and industry professionals through your training, while developing the skills, relationships and understanding needed to begin building a sustainable creative career.

By the time you leave, the aim is for the transition from training into professional practice to feel like a continuation of the work you have already begun.

BRISTOL IS PART OF THE EXPERIENCE.

The city becomes part of your training.

Theatres, cinemas, studios, galleries, independent venues and creative organisations surround you, while Bristol’s film, television, performance and cultural industries create opportunities to experience professional work first hand.

There is also a lot more to life here than training.
