Riven with passion and hot blood, this is a tale that is both mysterious and elemental; spirited and human. Written by the author of The House of Bernarda Alba and Yerma, in the summer of 1932, Lorca’s original Blood Wedding foreshadowed the violence that would soon engulf his beloved home and lead to his own tragic death.
In this version, performed by graduating students of Bristol School of Acting, Harlem Renaissance originator Langston Hughes infuses the story with a deep-set, earthly poetry and Jack Drewry’s original composition, that breathes new life into this age-old collision of love and hate.
