The first degree cohorts arrive at BSA

Bristol School of Acting welcomed the first cohorts onto its new degree programmes in September 2021. The two routes began with different working environments in view: the film set and the theatre company.

The three-year Acting for Screen programme was developed with Matthew Humphreys and BSA patron Charlie Cox. The Acting for Stage and Screen course was then an accelerated two-year route, with an extended teaching year and a company-in-training model at Tobacco Factory Theatres.

Speaking to The Stage that autumn, co-artistic director Nancy Medina described the importance of students developing an artistic identity of their own alongside their technical ability.
